PTO or "Parent Teacher Organization," is a group of parents and staff members that strive to create ways to further support the education of all students at Witt STEM Elementary. Once a month, PTO will hold a meeting in the Witt STEM Elementary Library at 4:30p.m.

***Childcare will be provided for all meetings in the Witt Gymnasium.***

We truly hope to see you all as we continue to support our staff and students in ways that help them to become the best that they can be!

Welcome Letter (8/14/2019)

Dear WITT Families,

WITT PTO would like to welcome you all back and a special welcome to all the new families to our wonderful school.

Our goal is to promote an environment where teachers and administrators can do their best work and our students can do their best learning. We’re always eager to find more great people, like you, to help us meet this goal.

This year we are looking for a Social Media/Communication Coordinator and a Fundraising Coordinator. Our goal is to help connect Witt families and the community in more ways so we can grow together.

We will Facebook live our meetings as we know how busy parents and teachers can be. This way if you are unable to attend a meeting you can still share ideas you may have and see what was discussed.

Our big Fundraiser this year, Run to Rise, will be October 2nd. Last year the 1st grade classes did their PBL on Witt’s playground and its safety. They did a fantastic job at presenting their findings and what needs to be changed/upgraded to help make the playground safer. Along with that the board voted to use funds from Run to Rise to be used to make the Playground safer. The 1st grade classes jump started that fund by hosting a Rock Shop in which they raised $811 to go towards updating the playground! Working together we can make a difference!

Last year was a pretty amazing year with PTO being able to do a lot of fun things for the students and the school. What were those amazing things you ask? Here is a list and we cannot wait to see this list grow year to year thanks to the amazing support of Witt families and the community.

  • Run to Rise- we purchased 18 Chromebook

  • Halloween Dance

  • Brought Boulder Ballet in to school for all students to participate for a week

  • Hosted Literacy Night and students that attended could get a book valued at $8

  • Feeder School Scholarship

  • Spring Carnival

  • Teacher appreciation week/conference meals

  • provided back up snacks for classes

  • Extra-Curricular actives: Stem club, canvas in the classroom and Sticky Fingers

  • provided scholarships for extracurricular activities hosted during the year

  • Community nights (community nights help support our spend the money committee)

Our Spend the Money Committee helps benefit our teachers and staff at Witt, which in turn benefits students! Every month we gather a list from teachers and staff to find out what needs they may have and funds earned during the community nights helps pay for these items needed.

We consider every parent or guardian of a student at WITT Elementary to be a member of the PTO and did we mention membership is FREE!

We promise that the time you give our group and the school will be worth your while—and fun! We don’t expect a huge time commitment from volunteers. An hour can be a big help to our group and the school, and we have positions and tasks to fit all schedules and interests. Just let us know whether a program, event, or activity interests you and when you might be free to help. You don’t even have to come to the school or attend a meeting to be involved (although we’d like to meet you in person!).

Feel free to email witt.partners@gmail.com if you have any questions or suggestions. Together, we can make a difference at our school.
